Is It Selfish To Go After What You Want?

I hope you are enjoying a beautiful spring weekend. If you celebrate Holy Week, I wish you a joyous Easter. This is my favorite time of year. The buds are coming out on the trees, the wisteria in the back yard is blooming, the days are getting longer, the hills around me are bright green, and I’m shaking out my musty self and getting back outside. Sunshine! Yes!

In this season of new beginnings, I’ve been having so much fun hosting my very first on-line learning event, Single And Strong: The Single Professional Women’s Guide To Getting What You Want Out of Life. We’re not even half-way through, and I’m already hearing from women telling me how much they are enjoying our guest speakers.

The title gives me tingles. I was so conditioned to pull away at the idea that I could in fact, get what I want out of life. For many years, I believed that it was self-centered to “get what I want” out of anything – and live??!!!. How about you? Does this thought give you tingles too?

I can tell you, my perspective has taken a complete 180!

What if getting what you want out of life is actually what will help you make the world a better place?

Are these true for you?

  • You want deep and lasting love.
  • You want to be on solid financial footing.
  • You want to be in a fulfilling career.
  • You want to be healthy in both spirit and body.
  • You want to make a difference in the world.
  • You want to align your actions with your spiritual values.

Are these desires really selfish, or are they actually guideposts to why you’re here on the planet?

Don’t you think it’s time to step up and be seen and heard and shine your brightest light possible in the world? If not now, when?

That’s why I’ve brought together some amazing women teachers to share their wisdom and show us the way.

But they’re only here in this format for one more week.

I really don’t want you to miss any of this. They’re coming to us for free.

On Thursday, Isabelle Peryrichoux shared with us about finding the career we absolutely love and the courage to make it happen. Oh my! This was incredibly inspiring, especially for single professional women who may feel like they’re stuck and can’t move without a second income.

Then on Friday, Jo Ilfeld shared with us how to move up the ladder in the job we’re in. How to be powerful leaders, speak with authority, have influence, and make a big difference in our workplace.

Next week we have more speakers. Each day at lunch time, I’m interviewing a different expert. On Monday, Sally Domingo will teach us how to get on top of our money NOW (and not wait for Prince Charming to rescue us!)

On Tuesday, Lea Bayles will teach us how to become our most loving, beautiful, magnetic selves. Oh my! I can’t wait for this one!

On Wednesday, Ariana Newcomer will help us find our voice and speak with power and confidence both at work and in our personal relationships. Don’t miss this one.

On Thursday, Nicole Justine Cavanaugh will teach us how to align our lives with our spiritual core so that we can get what we REALLY want out of life.

To close us out on Friday, I will teach you how to upgrade your love life for good, and attract a man who will love, respect, and cherish you. I’d love to have you on that one!
